Today we woke up at 5am. We had a plan that if we leave early we will get into Denver early. We started our day with stomachs full of fast-food breakfast and terrible coffee with our plan in full effect.
While on the road, I remember my Father in law saying that the trip from Kansas City to Denver is boring. However, while on the road. Meghan and I couldn't believe how beautiful the journey was. Sure, it was flat, long stretches of road, same speed, dry etc. But, so are some parts of New Zealand and it kinda felt like I was driving the roads of home.
We finally get into Denver, we put our bags in our hotel room, then decided to go and venture out into downtown Denver. Very quickly found out that Denver isn't the city our type of city that we thought it would be. Later on, we get told that we were in a pretty bad part of the city where a lot of the homeless community just hang out. Which made alot of sense after we were offered everything under the sun by people trying to sell us or trying to get into fights with (we almost got into a fight at Jamba Juice.
As I lay here in bed writing this entry. It keeps occurring to me that within my 2 years of being in America. I've seen so much of America and with this trip I get to do this with my awesome best friend and Wife. It's an amazing journey so far. Can't wait for our next stop. SALT LAKE CITY!
